What are your expectations for the transfer window and next season?
Mine are...

Sign some scouts! Start building a scouting network.

Keep Rice. Buy proper full backs. Increase the quality depth of the squad. Use Diangana.

Sell Fredericks, Masuaku, Lanzini and Ajeti. Release Wilshere.

If good offers come in for Anderson, Haller and Yarmolenko then cash in.

Stop signing over the hill has beens and concentrate on younger players who take the step up when signing for us not the step down!

Bowen and Soucek were very good signings and that bodes well for future signings (fingers crossed)

Next season my hopes are simply not getting into another relegation battle! I don't ask for much. Oh and respect the fucking cups please.

If it’s only 30% capacity crowds and no away fans all season I expect us to get to a cup final.

Dunno, it’s the carrot top one. Think it was his brother they was creaming over.

Stowie, is that the Longstaff that Newcastle fans thought was whey hey much better than Declan Rice?

Re: What are your expectations for the transfer window and next season?
A young leftback from the Champ. Maybe someone like Ryan Manning at QPR. An experienced older rightback to replace Zab and cover for the still young Johnson. An experienced centreback like, say, Pontus Jansson to replace Balbuena and cover for Diop.

We’re linked with Longstaff at Newcastle I just see, he’s a young talent no doubt but he’ll be back up really. No one think Cullen deserves maybe a chance for that role?.

We'll wait until we sell Anderson, Lanzini which won't be any time soon and panic buy few days before the windows closes.

I'd keep Yarmolenko and ditch Haller and Anderson for half decent money.

We have Kevin Nolan as one of the coaches, so we should see a big improvement in Diop's game as result of that

It's not just his heading ability his distribution is very poor aswell.

Re: What are your expectations for the transfer window and next season?
Issa Diop came into WH as a 21 year old, has played 65 games almost non-stop and is now still only 23.

Most 21 year old players would have been rested at some stages as their performance levels drop. Diop needs to know he isn't an automatic first choice to re-invigorate his performances and some one-on-one coaching time and we've got another star CB imho...

I'll be disappointed if he's sold.

Exile/Eerie,
Take your points but I still feel with a decent right back he would not have gone backwards.
However, yes Eerie I agree someone comes in at 40m take it.
I still feel he is and will be a good player in the future.
His heading ,I agree, is not what it was but at then end of the day we've had a lot worse at Centre Half over the years.
He's still young. time will tell

Re: What are your expectations for the transfer window and next season?
Expectations, this is a hard one the problem for me is freeing up space in the squad for new players, if no one wants them how can you keep adding to the squad numbers especially the amount of wages the Pellegrini players are on. There's not one player from his time in charge that I would keep and if you look at the team selection over the last month or so David Moyes feels the same , the exception of Fornals who works his socks off, Diop is only in the team because there's no one else . So when David Moyes says there might not be alot of transfer activity I get it. If by some miracle we can sell some of these players I would like to see upgrades right across the back line including the goal keeping position, the attacking midfielder Eze from QPR and give Grady Diangana a go on the left wing. On next season for me it all depends on what business we can get done in the closed season. You also have every other team in the league trying to improve there squad aswell.

Brought well so far. Sadly Declan I fear will go. Shame as if we keep him, what a pull for hungry, decent young players.

Fuck the Marque Signings.

Somehow I just wish we could it quite.

Looks like Eze is going to CRYSTAL PALACE.

Losing out to little old Palace for transfer targets, they should move out of their stadium to a rented athletics arena so they can lose out on transfers to CHARLTON ATHLETIC

Re: What are your expectations for the transfer window and next season?
Expecting fuck all with GSB

Sell Rice to the highest bidder (money in their pocket)

Anderson will go and the Anderson funds will go towards buying a few from the lower leagues to challenge Cresswell and Noble.

Fighting relegation once again

.....at a push mid table

Re: What are your expectations for the transfer window and next season?
That’s the main point with Diop, we’d get decent money for him and will probably make profit. He isn’t good enough and reminds me so much of Mangala when he was at man city.

The point you, and most people, seem to be totally ignoring regarding the Diop thing is he is one of the few that would bring in funds. In an ideal world, I think most would keep him and bring in another centre half to challenge him.

But, and this is the other thing you all seem to be in a dreamworld about, we won't be able to shift those players you and every one of us want gone. Who is going to pay these players £100k a week, as well as a transfer fee, to take them off our hands?

Think about it, then engage.

Yeah I saw that. Gold uses Hugh's site and Hugh when he is sober enough to comprehend as a kind of Pravda news outlet. Positioning for the "we tried" excuses in a few weeks.
